March 30 COVID-19 Thought of the Day – “Vine and Branches”

I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.” –John 15: 5

It’s not about us trying to work and do something for God. It’s about us abiding in Him and being in Him and following Him each and every day as He leads. Through our lives, He will work a great work in the lives of those around us. They see our peace in these times of uncertainty. They see our witness as one who walks with Him and follows Him each day without fear, but walking in faith.

We have the opportunity each and every day to be bearing fruit for Him. My family is in the process is putting a garden in. As we plant seeds, if we plant a tomato seed, we will anticipate a tomato. If we plant peas, then we’ll expect peas. If we plant potatoes, we will expect potatoes. Whatever we plant is what we then expect to receive. We, as Christians, are called to bear fruit. Through our lives, we are helping others come to know Jesus, and thereby we are producing the fruit of other Christians.

It all goes back to Matthew 28:19-20, that we are called to go into the world and make disciples, to be a disciple-making disciple. In this time that we are deployed, that we are out in the world as we are not able to gather corporately, let these messages be an encouragement to you.
