Ambassadors for Christ by Jason G. Lutz

Ambassadors for Christ by Jason G. Lutz

Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were making an appeal through us; we beg you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God.”
(‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭5:20‬ ‭NASB‬‬)
Last week we stood before the Throne of Judgement and Christ, our High Priest, claimed us.  We have been reconciled despite our unholiness to the Father and Grace abounds within us!  Hallelujah!  This is wonderful, it is the Good News!  We can add nothing to it.  Yet at some point this Grace must necessarily become apparent in our lives as believers.  As Karl Barth wrote, “Grace needs to be manifest in all that we do”.
We should do out best to practice graciousness (politeness and courtesy), this is virtue and we are southern West Virginians.  Professionalism?  It may be the height of virtue.  These point to Grace, but they are not the whole story.  The whole is that Christ’s Work is able to redeem anyone completely and totally.
It is less important that people label us with feel-good adjectives and more important that we understand that we are ambassadors for Christ and carry His message of reconciliation to God.  The great Apostle Paul used the term “beg”.  Can we doubt that he saw this reconciliation the absolute necessity of human life?
Please understand that not all will be saved.  Please understand that by unbelief many whom we love condemn themselves.  Please understand the Gospel of Jesus Christ is the Good News.

Grace be with you,

Jason
