Debbie Shadowen taught school for 37 years and have done long-term substitute jobs in the 4 years since she retired. In addition, Debbie directed Junior 1 camp at Cowen for the past 26 years, finally “retiring” from that position last summer. She has a degree in Elementary Education with a specialization in Early Childhood, a master’s degree in School Counseling, and is currently enrolled at Liberty University working on a master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy.
Debbie has been a member at Emmanuel for over 30 years and in that time have served as a children’s Sunday School teacher, a youth volunteer, on the Finance and Educational Assistance Committees and been a member of the choir. Debbie said that she is excited work with the children and families of Emmanuel Baptist Church. Hop on board! It’s going to be a fun ride.
