We walk by faith, not by sight by Jason G. Lutz

We walk by faith, not by sight by Jason G. Lutz

“For we walk by faith, not by sight.”
(‭‭II Corinthians‬ ‭5:7‬)

Karl Barth wrote, “rightly understood there are no Christians, there is only the opportunity to become a Christian”. There is much to discuss here of which I am not capable. But I think the idea should influence our mindset.

Faith is the center piece of Christianity. We believe that God is capable of doing what He says He will do. Yet He does so on His time and through His divine Will. Understanding His Will is often a challenge. Yet we walk by faith…

We also believe that Christ has redeemed us and cleansed us of our evil and our guilt for the wrong that we do. But we still have sleepless nights and anxiety over hurt relationships. Yet, we walk by faith.

Here is how I think Barth would have liked to influence our mindset: everyday we have new opportunity to become a Christian and it is wonderful. Each new day is not about our ability, specifically our inability, to live up to an ideal; it is about our opportunity to choose His Will. Each new day is not about what we have done or have not done, it is about our opportunity to serve His Kingdom in a new way in this day.
